We’ll lodge for 2 nights at Granite Peak and bring in the New Year at our combined Pizza party (but you know LSSC-we’ll dress it up some!). Then after skiing Granite Peak Friday, 1/2/15, we bus to Marquette for 2 nights stay with 2 more days of skiing. Granite Peak has terrain for ALL skiers: with 72 runs downhill runs and 5 snowboard parks. XC skiers have over 20 miles of trails including loops from .5 to 9.6 miles. 9 Miles XC Trails is located about 3 miles beyond Granite Peakwith well groomed trails to accommodate skaters and diagonal skiers, a spacious chalet offering concessions, changing facilities and a lounge area with panoramic views. And there are lighted trails for fantastic nighttime skiing! Rental equipment is available. Marquette Mountain area is already a XC favorite, but it is also one of the Midwest's highest vertical mountains with 26 runs and 3 terrain parks (and average of 210” of snow annually). And they recently opened a 25km portion of the 53 km marathon course to the public for winter-long XC skiing.
